Termite Control
All-Rid Pest &
Termite, lnc. has been providing termite protection to homes and
businesses for over 25 years. This is experience you can count on.
What can
termites do to my home? Termites eat wood. In their natural
state, they eat fallen logs and stumps off the forest floor. But on your
property, they can eat away the equity you have built up in your home
and property. Termites infest millions of homes nation-wide,
causing over $750 million in damage annually, according to the United
States Department of Agriculture.
How does a
professional inspection uncover termite activity that's invisible to me?
While much termite damage is hidden, termites have few secrets to
the eyes of a professional. He knows the conditions termites
favor, and how to uncover termite activity which the untrained eye might
pass over--with damaging results.
What will you
do to get rid of termites? Create an invisible curtain of
termiticide between your home and the termites, which eliminates
termites as they try to attack your home. Treatment begins with a
thorough inspection. Then, an analysis of your home and property. And
finally, applying materials to effectively kill termites.
How will you
achieve this invisible barrier? Methods vary with each house,
depending on the type of foundation or basement, construction materials,
number and type of porches, patios, chimneys, etc. By digging narrow
trenches along walls and drilling through horizontal surfaces and into
voids, materials can be applied where they will kill termites as
they try to enter your home.
Won't this
kind of thorough treatment be a lot of trouble? No. Our modern
termite control treatment will usually take a single day, or less,
with very little upset to your daily routine. And considering the fact
that a home is the largest single investment most American families will
ever make, protecting its value is not much trouble at all.
When is the
right time to call in a termite professional? Termite treatment
is a fixed cost. But the longer you delay treatment, the more damage
termites will do. Repairs will become more extensive, and more
expensive. Generally speaking, the sooner you approve treatment, the
better.
If I haven't
seen swarming termites, or traces of damage, can my home still be in
danger? Unfortunately, yes. When a colony swarms, the winged
termites may be in the air for just a few minutes and you may not
see them. Termites also eat wood from the inside out, making
their activity detectable only by professional termite
inspection.

Ant or termite?
Winged termites are usually, but not always smaller, about 1/4" in
length. They appear to have two body segments, straight antennae, and
two pairs of equally long wings. Ants have three body segments with a
narrow waist, elbowed antennae and a longer pair of front wings |

Mosquito
Control
Is your
Property A Mosquito Zone?
West Nile
virus is spreading throughout our community.
Your property could be a breeding ground for thousands of mosquitoes.
Call All-Rid Pest & Termite
for assessment and control.
The threat of West
Nile virus is real, and so are other viruses mosquitoes
can carry.
Beyond mosquito
repellent for protecting you and your family, we offer a long-term
control program. For starters, we control adult mosquitoes on your
property. Then, we turn our focus to elimination of existing mosquito
larvae developing in standing water – to control them before they become
breeding, biting adults. |
 |
In short, we offer
a dual approach to reducing mosquito populations, which, in turn,
reduces the number that may carry such diseases as West Nile virus,
encephalitis, dengue, malaria and canine heartworm.
Unfortunately, not
all of the mosquitoes you encounter on your property originate there.
This means an ongoing treatment regimen is your best option for
protecting you and your family, so you can continue to enjoy your
outdoor activities.
How do the
products you use stop mosquitoes? |
|
Once we kill
existing adult mosquitoes, we treat the standing water (mosquito
breeding sites) on your property. The products we use either kill
mosquitoes on contact or prevent mosquito larvae (the immature offspring
that develop in water) from becoming adults. It’s the best of both
worlds and the most effective control strategy. |
 |
How do you
know if mosquitoes are carrying a disease?
It is impossible to
tell. All forms of precautions are recommended, such as store-bought
repellents. Professional control methods include two distinct control
agents: adulticides, which kill adult mosquitoes, and larvicides, which
prevent larval mosquitoes from becoming breeding, biting adults.
Why not
just use conventional methods of repelling mosquitoes, like repellent
sprays and candles? |
|
By the time you see
a mosquito buzzing around, it’s already a breeding, biting threat.
That’s why the use of an adulticide and a larvicide in tandem is the
most effective approach for minimizing the numbers and reducing the
threat to you and your family. Using a repellent or one of our misting
systems should be considered part of any protection program. |
|
Will
treatments totally eliminate the mosquitoes on my property?
Because of the
migratory mature of mosquitoes, it is impossible to prevent one from
flying into your yard. However, ongoing treatments will prevent mosquito
infestations from developing on your property and will reduce the number
of mosquitoes you see.
Ideally, treating
all the problem areas in your yard and your neighbors’ yards would be
the most effective way to reduce mosquito numbers, ultimately providing
you and your family with protection to enjoy your outdoor activities.
How many
treatments are required?
Mosquitoes develop,
mature and lay eggs in standing water, whenever the conditions are
right, which is most often in the warmer months. The important
thing is to monitor the property and apply treatment when necessary.
To be thorough,
treatment should begin as soon as the temperature gets above 65 degrees
and should continue though fall. In Texas, year-round application is
recommended.
Are the
products you use recommended for use around people and pets?
The products we use
can be applied around people and pets with confidence. The larvicide
product will not harm pets or birds, as it is specifically targeted
toward mosquitoes. Your pest management professional can provide you
with greater detail about the adulticide products he or she will use. |
 |
Does a
larvicide harm fish or other aquatic life in ponds and streams?
No. The larvicide
used targets only developing mosquitoes and is not harmful to fish,
other aquatic life, surrounding wildlife or the environment. Always read
and follow label directions.
We install
X-Mosquito
misting systems for year-round control.
